Apostles and Prophets are seen as FATHERS. In the five-fold gifting, there is an order which needs to be obeyed.
In Genesis 1, God first created us in His image and then in His likeness. In Genesis 5:3, we read that Adam created first in his likeness and then in his image.
At the fall of man, the Devil confiscated the dominion which had been entrusted to Adam. But the second Adam, Jesus, reinstated that dominion to the church.
We must be restored to the image of God (see Romans 8:29). Jesus came back to restore that image.
